Over the past year, the Reclaim Cleveland team has traveled around the city to collect stories of grassroots leaders making a difference in their communities through the power of reclaiming green space, vacant land, and public spaces. These interviews were compiled and made into a series of episodes called The Green Couch Project. The mission of this project is to create shared space for grass-roots organizations to have the power & a voice to advocate & reclaim public space/land in Cleveland.
The next episode will be showing on July 17th from 6pm to 8pm at the Neighborhood Connections office (1971 East 66th Street). Don’t miss this incredible series of stories.
This episode will feature: Ebonie Joiner of Shalom & Tranquility Community Garden and Ms. Lee of The Tire Garden.
The theme of this screening is utilizing gardens as vital places of connection so that, even when tragedy strikes, community leaders are steadfast in their efforts to continue the work, using them as spaces of healing and reflection.
We hope to see you there!
