Ten-Year Housing and Investment Plan

We have joined the City of Cleveland’s initiative to create a Ten-Year Housing and Investment Plan. We know housing is an issue important to the members of our network and our community at-large, and being a part of this process allows us to ensure that residents’ voices play a role in shaping the recommendations that this plan produces. Once the plan is complete we can work with one another, the City, and partner institutions to make sure the plan is implemented.

Ways to Get Involved Right Now:

As of February 2021 we are continuing to get input for Phase 1 of the planning process, meaning there are still multiple opportunities to make your voice heard before any policy recommendations are drafted!

Current ways to get involved include:

  • Fill out this 15-minute survey
  • Watch the first public meeting and leave your thoughts on the comment board here (scroll to bottom of the page)
  • Register for one of the listening sessions listed below

More about the housing plan:

The goal of the Ten-Year Housing and Investment Plan is to foster a robust housing market that will ensure everyone has access to a decent home, provide a full range of housing choices for existing residents, and attract new residents to Cleveland’s neighborhoods. It will create a blueprint for programs, policies, and investment tools to achieve this goal.

The year-long planning process launched in July 2020 and will continue through July 2021.  The process will engage a broad coalition of stakeholders and residents through working groups, interviews, surveys, and more. It is overseen by the City of Cleveland and an Advisory Committee made up of city officials, for- and non-profit developers, housing service providers, funders, and residents. The HUD five-year action plan, due in Summer 2021, provides the ideal opportunity to assess whether Cleveland is deploying federal funds for housing and community development in a way that serves the fundamental needs of our community. This Plan will inform the City’s investment strategy going forward.
