Operation HOPE, in partnership with Forward Cities, JumpStart Inc., and Neighborhood Connections, will host a commemoration panel discussion inspired by a forgotten and invaluable part of America’s History — the anniversary of the creation of the Freedman’s Bank.
Established by President Abraham Lincoln, the Bank was a landmark institution designed to teach former slaves about money. This commemoration is a continued nationwide Tour to complete the Bank’s unfinished mission of helping everyone prosper in the free enterprise system.
Nationally, the Tour attracts influential and progressive non-profit organizations, thought leaders, and executives from the public and private sector and across civil society organizations in each city the forum is held.
This is an opportunity to engage with a unique network of leaders, experts, and key individuals in economic development in thought provoking discussion and problem solving to address some of Cleveland’s most pressing issues. The Forum provides the opportunity to forge new partnerships that maximizes the collective impact of our community, share best practices with like-minded and experienced colleagues, and learn from the best and brightest minds working to shrink the wealth gap.
