The Messiah Sing-Along, a long time holiday tradition, will be held at Severance Hall, 11001 Euclid Ave., for the first time. At 7 p.m. on Monday, December 17, Credo Chamber Music invites members of the community to join together in singing (or just listening to) excerpts from Handel’s “Messiah” to celebrate the season!
Credo’s Artistic Director Peter Slowik commented, “It’s the biggest Messiah Sing in the Greater Cleveland area. We’ve gotten an enthusiastic response from the community and we are looking forward to this event.”
This event promises to be a community gathering unlike any other. Take the outstanding musicians (including prize-winning vocal soloists from Oberlin Conservatory and a chamber orchestra), enthusiastic singers who want to belt out the Hallelujah Chorus, and an acoustically superior chamber hall – you can’t get better than that! Slowik also remarked on Reinberger Chamber Hall, the Severance Hall space where the event will be held: “Fewer people know of this space, but it is just as beautiful as the main hall. The acoustics are phenomenal and the singers will love this intimate experience.”
All are invited to attend and participate or sit back and listen! Tickets are expected to sell out, so please reserve them early at the Severance box office. Call 216-231-1111 or go to clevelandorchestra.com/tickets. Scores will be available for rent for $5, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own.
