Teams of Neighbor Up members have mobilized around issues of wealth and health equity. They’ve formed partnerships that continue to push the envelope in terms of policy and procedural reform — changes that make a meaningful difference in the lives of everyday people.
STEP UP TO UH
Members worked with University Hospitals and Towards Employment to form the neighborhood jobs pipeline Step Up to UH. The result? So far UH has hired about 200 Cleveland and East Cleveland residents to good paying, entry-level jobs with benefits. Positions were in environmental services, nutrition services, and as personal care assistants, and medical assistants.
